This is a shaper! And it’s supposed to fit TIGHT! I LOVE IT! I use it in my daily basis (to shape my body) also to work out and I LOVE IT!
The material is GREAT QUALITY!
I would definitely buy again when I slim down a little bit more!
I've now purchased another of this one in the same size (5'5 165 with a 35-36in waist - 3XL) - but I'm not looking to get, as you say, snatched back to a different size, just for post-surgical compression that doesn't cut off blood flow. If I were looking for something more in the I have no abdominal incisions and want a teensy waist I would choose a size down.
Ok, my requirements when I was looking:
1) provides moderate compression - I'm not looking for complete squish because that cuts off blood flow to recovering tissues. So I sized appropriately based on the comments. Not looking to change my waist size, just make sure everything is held *firmly* in place.
2) something I can get into on my own while standing up without screwing up my incisions or performing yoga (that's where the front-close bit comes in)
3) something I can wear all day long
4) with a gusset in the crotch I can unclip so I can pee without taking the whole thing off.
5) that won't fall apart
This met my first four requirements and looks solid enough on the fifth one. I like that the inner closings up the front are graduated, in that you can select the first hook or the second depending on how you want it to hold as you zip it up. I like the top hook & eye closure to keep it in place, and I like that the bottom crotch hooks are on a narrow gusset and likely won't chafe, as I need to wear this all day long. The top straps are adjustable and narrow enough to not show up, and the sides don't cut into me up top. All in all this is a very, very well-designed garment.
When I got it I waited until morning on a weekend after my doctor said I had clearance to try different compression to try it on, and it fit perfectly. I'm going to wash it before I wear it for a full day - it comes out of the package smelling a bit like car tires. :) But it feels as though it will do exactly what I'm looking for. I'll probably wear it *over* a light cotton t-shirt and underwear most days to keep it off my incisions and keep it from getting too sweaty; this should minimize the wear and tear on it. Then I can layer my professional clothing over that. I will not be cold in the office for a while.... gonna have to be careful about overheating the next few summer months, I guess, and drink plenty of water. :)
